Battery Light wont go off
Hi everyone,
I have a 96 Honda Accord, 4Dr, 4cyl.
Today I was cleaning out my engine bay with some degreaser and a pressure washer.
I let the car dry for a few hours before I started it and it worked fine. I know it has been in need of a new battery for a while now because the cold cranking amps were low and it had some rough starts over this past winter.
Anyways, I drove it for 10 minutes tonight and all of a sudden the gauges stopped working. The battery light came on too. So when I got home, I tried to leave a few minutes later to run up to autozone and buy a new battery. The car would not start.
I had to jump start it and drove it 2 minutes up to autozone. I got a new battery for it and now the battery light still wont go off. I told them to scan it, but they couldnt find where to plug in a scanner, maybe it doesnt have OBDII yet??? it's a 96.
Well anyways, they did a test on the alternator and said it was working properly, so now i am at a loss.
How do i reset this light and get it to shut off??? I already tried to reset the ECU by pulling the backup fuse (radio).
Thanks in advance

no.... but like i said, i did pull the backup fuse under the hood for about 20 seconds to reset the ECU...
is there one in particular that i should look to check?
I sure hope this isnt an alternator problem. they did check it at autozone and said it was good, but now im scared after this new battery is drained that i am going to be stranded somewhere. ughhh.

Well i took it to another autozone today and had them do an alternator test. just my luck... it was not charging. so i needed to buy a new alternator. I will install it today and get back to you if that fixes the problem or not.
