B20vtec P/V clearance stg1 cams
Hello all out there thinking this has been covered millions of times and I am a dork. I may be a dork but I am not lazy and ignorant. I have spent all day looking for specific info or experience but only found it regarding P/V clearance on a stock b20b with stage 2+ cams or type-R cams. I have searced H-T and Hondaswap.com and I know now that Type R cams will work as long as the cam timing isnt changed more than 4 degrees. I also know that valve tap will occur with large(stg2+) cams.
So my question:
Being that my Blox stg1 cams are practically Type-R cams with larger vtec lobes, will Stage 1 cams work with my stock b20b or should I sell them and get ctr cams? The GSR head is not milled and I have an OEM b20 head gasket.
I am ESPECIALLY interested in peoples personal experience and not so interested in flaming. Not sure if this post will be deleted but at least I gave it a shot. Thanks for patiently reading the thoughts that I held in my head for the past 60 seconds.
I know that to know for sure I should get the motor clayed. Its complete and running in my car and I would rather stupidly bypass that step. Thanks again.
Have great awareness and a wonderful day

i don't have any actual experience but i've heard that even with ctr cams in a b20v there might not be enough p2v clearance because the valve reliefs on the stock b20 pistons aren't big enough.
I have heard that too throughout my searching. But I have only read it from people who heard from other people. I also found a topic in which an individual who appeared to be a tuner had said type-r cams will clear within 4 degrees cam timing. So Im still searching, looking for first hand experience. Tomorrow I will call Blox and ask them what the difference is between their type a cams and oem typer cams.
Now I know that CTR and ITR cams have 11.5mm lift on intake and Blox Type-A ,which I have, comes to like 11.73 on intake. This leads me to conclude that I do not want to use the Blox Type A cams on my stock b20 bottom.
I've decided to run one of these cams:
+1st choice - Crower 401's(NA version)-11.3mm intake and 10.5 exhaust(Exhaust side is identical to typer and intake is .2mm smaller but duration is 10degrees more on intake and 3degrees less on exhaust)
+Skunk2 Stage 1(Not Pro-series)- 11.5mm on intake(same as typer) and 10.8 and exhaust(.3mm larger than typer)
+Jun Type 1-10.9mm on intake and 10.0mm on exhaust(This would probably be my safest option)
Anyone want to buy some Blox-A cams for GSR?
