Help me drop my car!
my current set up in my 93 civic hatch is oem shocks, ebay coilovers w/ ebay springs (i think... all i know is theyre blue with no logo. they were given to me)
my tire sizes are 195-55-15 all around, and a few months ago i had the car lowered a few inches... enough to where the tire scraped if i turned enough. since i live in the country i raised it up. now theres about a 1cm gap between the tire, and fender. i noticed that on hard curves my tires would scrape inside the wheel well due to blown shocks from having the car so low on oem shocks.
so my question is... what should i do to bring it back to where it was. i want to drop it enough to where my tire is inside the well, and turning is a hassle. basicaly, i want to slam it to where its only like 3" off the ground.
im on a limited budget, so what would you guys suggest as a cheap knockoff or something... i think the coilovers work, and the springs are pretty stiff, but i might have to replace those too... ride quality isnt that bad of an issue, my main concern is looks.
TIA

Go away.
This is the suspension tech forum, not the no-suspension wannabe forum.

step 1: get 195/50/15 tires
step 2: get some stock springs
step 3: cut 4 coils off
step 5: cut your bump stops in half
step 6: have a nice day
i did this about 8 years ago on my first car, not the best way to do anything but its damn near free and you'd be surprised how nice it actually rode... you might have to cut/roll some fenders though...

what about shocks? if i use oem they'll blow in no time. ive had my shocks right now for like 8 months, and i only had the car mildly droped and they're out right now. im pretty much ridin on the spring right now.

i fail to see a problem... riding that low any shock will blow out... get some GC extended top hats if you like, it may take some stress off your shocks...
