Hey guys, what is the best factory exhaust manifold that fits on the 1998 F23 vtec engine? I think I was reading that the 94-97 EX manifold is almost like a DC header, is this true? Will this be an upgrade on the f23? Will it bolt right on? Thanks

 

Saying that the oem ex manifold and dc sports are similar would be correct...they are both 4-2-1 designs, with the dc maintaining a small collector diameter rather than going larger (its main short fall). For a budget setup, I would use a 5th gen ex mani and modify it to have a larger collector. It's worth mentioning that everything after the collector is a restriction and will not offer any performance benefit.

 

If you are going to get a 94-97 EX 4-2-1 OEM exhaust manifold don't forget the down pipe to go with it.

 

So the 5th gen 94-97 EX manifold Bolts right on the 6th gen f23 head with no problems?

Thanks for the reminder, Ill be sure and pick up both parts along with OEM heat sheilds . Ill have the collector modified so that I can get the most out of it. Thanks for the suggestion.
