Default D series map sensor on a b series?

Just had my motor swaped last week and we have been stumped on why vtec doesnt work and now this is all I have to figure out to get my vtec to work! My bf checked my CEL and now all it is throwing is 3 (map sensor). We tried to take the map sensor off his d16z6 from the tb but the nipple that goes into the tb broke. I have a JDM B16 and using a P30 ecu. Im guessing that my b16 had a fw mounted map sensor cuz there is no way to connect a tb map sensor on my tb, just a nipple sticking out where a vacum hose would be.

So my question is if I go to the junkyard and get a map sensor from a D series that is connected to the tb or even the fw, will I be able to take that a stick it somewhere and connect a hose from it to the tb nipple? And would it function properly to give me Vtec? Or do I HAVE to use a B series fw map sensor?

We've swapped b and d maps with no issues. And you can simply run a vacuum hose to the nipple of the map sensor and let it hang or zip tie it down somewhere.

Actually you want the MAP sensor mounted higher than the hose. This helps to keep the MAP sensor from being contaminated by oil vapors etc. MAP sensors are very succeptible to contamination.
