What gear are you guys in??????????????????

Hey guys,

I was just wondering what final gear each of you are in when you cross the line in a 1/4 mile race. I only have and intake and exhaust and with that I just barely have to shift into 4th. I treid keeping it in 3rd but I hit the rev-limiter.
Let me know....

Most b series cars cross through the traps in 4th.

used to be topping out in 4th at around 8200 rpm in a b16.....with 185/60r13 tires........though this was like 6 months ago, now i have a different set-up, i know it may be different

i ahve the stock gearing and im very high in the rpm range in 4th when crossing

If you're flooring it, there's no way you're going to end up in third.

With stock tires I was shifting a little before the finish...with Nitto NT-555R's (205-45/15) I would be well into 4th gear do to the change in tire size...which is similar to changing your Final Drive to the JDM spec 4.785.

Yeah i had to go into 4th for like a second before i passed the line. I tried to stay in 3rd but hit the limiter too.

4th gear at a little over 9000 rpm, 106 mph trap speed. on 14 inch street tires.

Stock itr rev limiter you'll be in 4th whether you have 4.4, 4.785, or 4.929 final drive.....

If you raise your rev limiter to 10k, you could cross the 1320 mark at the top of 3rd and possibly drop the second or so it takes to shift to 4th.....

I'd be very interested in seeing a car do that.....

i have an automatic and my 3rd goes well into 120mph... i've only reached 101mph in the 1/4 mile
