Default nasty noise on right hand turns? help!

So i just finished a full integra brake swap on my 1997 dx civic. I drove it for about a week before i heard this noise for the first time.

background info... b16a swap, 2" drop on H&R springs with skunk2 shocks, had the passenger side wheel bearing and both upper ball joints replaced on the integra assemplies right before the swap. When backing out of my driveway i cut the steering wheel all the way one way or another to avoid scraping.

While steering all the way to the right, i hear this gross noise coming from my passenger side front wheel area as it comes down the gutter at the end of the drive way (about a 6 in drop, but angled). Its sounds sort of like something is grinding, but only for about a second, then it quits. It has happened about 4 other times under the same conditions, but it doesn't happen if i turn the wheel to the left instead, so only on that side. It has happened three other times. Twice while turning right into my girlfriends driveway (no gutter, just flat driveway) and once while pulling into another driveway. So it seems to happen while turning the steering wheel all the way to the right.

I have no idea what the is, my first guess would be something to do with the tie rod, but i dont know. Any ideas?

your tie rod isn't going to make any noise. might just be your tire rubbing. if your car is lowered and then you put your car at a wierd angle while exiting your drive way, then that is a good possibility. if it was something major in your suspension then you would notice it under daily driving conditions such as noises while under regular driving or alignment problems or something of the sort.

could just be your rack and pinion making some noise since you have the wheel turned the whole way....both my honda's and my girls avenger do it for a sec then go away

I have never heard it under normal driving, just when turned all the way to hit a driveway or something. As far as fender rub, this doesn't sound like that, im well acquainted with that wonderful noise. lol. This is much louder and more metal-on-metal sounding.

ok nvm, problem solved, its just the worst tire rub i've ever heard. My tires were grabbing an edge and pulling, instead of just rubbing it like normal. I guess my 6 month old springs are finally setting. All it took was a friend driving so i could take a better look.
I just freaked out because the breake swap was brand new and i wanted to make sure i wasnt about to break something. Sorry for the waste of time.

I had a metal-on-metal scraping sound too when I lowering my civic 4 door. Both my fronts where scraping. I pulled the tires off and bent back the flimsy brake dust sheid as far back as it would go and I havent heard it since.
