thee is a claning noise on my rebuilt engine, p30 type r internals, b18c block, when i accelerate on low rpms around2g you can hear it best.
any ideas? throttle cable maybe? timing belt seems to be tight with very little play

first of all are all the mounts torqued to specs. i remember i made a stupid mistake and forgot to tighten my rear tranny mount and the motor was hitting every where. just a thought.

 

its a pinging under a load, i use 93 octane

 

might be rod knock happends to the best of us did u change the oil pump ?

 

are you sure it's coming from the engine? kick your exhasut a few times and make sure it's not your resonator. mine does that and will until i got straight pipe.

My guess would be rod knock.

 

no rod knock, this motor is brand new hasnt seen over 5 g's, and its completely balanced you cant even feel it rev.
i retard the timing the noise went away, but i believe all my problems are comming from myp30 ecu, its fit for a b16, the car is lean. needs a map made for a poor mans type r
any ideas on the base map?
