Can you give more details? What is code P0170?
It could be the primary oxygen sensor is malfunctioning when cold, the iac (?), or something wrong with the fuel system which does not allow proper flow when cold.

every once and awhile the the cel for o2 sensor will come on but not all the time... it doesnt idle funny at all so i didnt think it could be the iacv... p0170 i searched the code on here and all i found was primary o2 sensor but i dont think that is rite...so to anwser your question im not sure what that code is...

the more gas i give it while its cold the more hesitant and the more it will fall on its face idk i think maybe the o2 might be the cause... when the car is warm it runs 100% perfect...
I'd double check the wiring on the primary O2 sensor, sounds like it could be a problem in the heater circuit. Check the harness for any cuts, pinches, bends or abrasions. The O2 doesn't get an accurate reading when the sensor is cold, so it would make sense that the heater circuit is bad. It may have to wait for the exhaust gasses to heat the sensor to operating temperature. If you have a multimeter or test light I'd also check for voltage. I'm not sure if it's a full 12 volts but most likely is, so if your getting voltage just change out the sensor.

There's a heater circuit in the o2 sensor that could be malfunctioning. Would explain your problem only when cold. Sparkplugs.com sells oem o2 sensor's for $40. It's the right place to start in your situation.
