Default usdm ecu?

i am trying to get my 94 jdm gsr swap to pass ref so i bought an obd1 usdm gsr ecu. I plugged the ecu in and the car hits rev limitter at 4k, CEL comes on but no code, and i have a bouncing idle. Was i sold the wrong ecu? Their isnt any stickers on it that say p72, so how could i tell if it really is?

Thanks

If you take the cover off the ECU, there is another sticker on the top of the plastic connector housing (where you plug in the wiring harness) that will say which ECU it is, unless that sticker is removed also.

I'm sure there are other ways to tell too, but this would be easiest if the sticker is there on the inside.
