Default 95 civic d series cam gear

is there a better cam gear i can put in my 95 civic 1.6 vtec...like maybe 97 el cam gear or a 96-2000 civic si cam gear does anyone know anything about cam gear swaps

you gotta be really careful with the d-series cam gears. only use z-gears with z-engines and y gears with y engines. The reason for this is that one of them (i forget which) is a tooth smaller so you will fubar your head/valves in no time. If you want a better gear AEM has them, if you want the best gear bisimoto has them -et

There is no point in using a cam gear unless you're trying to correct for a timing offset or if you know you will need to adjust the mechanical timing to maximize the power from an aftermarket cam installation.

Does either one apply to you?
