car jerks
my car has been having this weird problem since i got it. i jerks alot when its in lower gears/ lower rpms. and sometimes when im at a stop light the idle goes down what looks like low to me.(im new to accords and new to manuels.) i think it goes between 500-700 then back to 1000 but sometimes it goes down almost all the way to the end of the tach.

look under the dash and there is a two pin connector pull it out of the black box under the passenger side dash and bridge it over and turn the key on and the cel will blink but the vss could be what is wrong with it bc that has a little to do with how much fuel to give it

i noticed today that its really sluggish and jerky (like someone is pushing the gas pedal and letting go and pushing and letting go) up untill 3k then it accelerates normaly
WOW this sounds exactly like the problem i have, I have a 1994 accord ex. I have been trying to figure this out for over 2 years. guys from honda cant figure it out either. we have replaced pretty much every ignition peace there is because thats what it seems the problem it. we have check every sensor too and they all seem to be fine. I when it sputters at idle it is a rich miss fire. My car will sputter at idle every so often and it will do it if i hold the car at 2200-2800 RPM. It will not sputter or anything if im flooring it or anything. just when held at certain RPM. Cyl #1 spark plug was gettin alot of build up on it and it seemed as tho it was the head gasket going out. so changed head gasket and timing belt and all that stuff. and it still has the same problem. but i think that did fix my problem with the spark plug. The only thing left to do to my car that might fix it is the ECU. I got one off ebay and it is suppose to be here sometime this coming week. if it works i will let you know. Have you tired doing anything to figure out what your problem is?
OH one thing i forgot. I have had my car on a scanner and noticed that while car is running, when it should be in closed loop. It will switch from closed to open loop when reving up the car or while driving it will go crazy switching in and out of closed loop. this is why i think the ECU could be bad
i didnt think about the spark plugs i should try that. i noticed tho when i turn my ac of my car doesnt idle as bad. i think it has something to do with the car not getting enough fuel or something.
or it could be that the car is gettin too much fuel. I had a bad exhaust leak before mt O2 sensor and it was makings my O2 real that i was running lean all the time dumping more fuel in adn causeing a miss fire. but i was only able to notice it at a idle. it was sputter and about die every 2 min or so. and i fixed that and now im just back to my other problem. check to see if you have a exhaust leak. and check to see if your O2S is switching properly
also i forgot to mention i noticed today that if i turn the ac off my idle stays fairly normal but if i turn it on it starts dropping really low.
yeah turning your ac on will drop your rpm a lil. its normal. and yes the sputtering problems suck! i have been tryin to figure mine out for two years! i wanna just swap the motor and be done with it
oka, so i got my ecu. it fixed mt problem. maybe thats what is wrong with yours. not sayin that for sure because i have not seen in person what is going on with your car. but that could be the answer

thanks for the info man i might have to try it out. lol thats funny your pretty close to me and have the same problem
