Default Disconnecting V-AFC

I have to remove my V-AFC to pull my center console apart for a stereo install. This should be relatively easy right. I think the tech that put it in just used electrial tape for connecting. As long as I remember which wires go where and make a note of all my settings I should be alright. Anyone have suggestions or problems with doing this? Thanks everyone.

If you don't have a manual, you can always get one from Apex's US website.

The V-AFC has a connector about half way.... you should just be able to disconnect this and then reconnect it after you have done the install.......
There is no need to pull it completely out.
I'm assuming you didn't do the install... so just follow the wires from the V-AFC display until you get to the connector... disconnect this and you should be ok to move the V-AFC.

Just one thing.....DON'T try and start the car while it's disconnected....

Thanks for the info, so your sayin the V-AFC has a connector that plugs into the ECU instead of each individual wire going from it into the computer. If thats the case it should be easy. Thanks again..

There is an intermediate wire which has a harness (connector) at one end and open wires on the other. The open wires are spliced into the ecu wires and
the connector end connects to the V-AFC ( at the end of its cord)

Hope this helps!!

alright, should be easier than I thought. Thanks a lot for the info. I've been wanting to remount my V-AFC in a new location and haven't because I thought rewiring it would be a bitch. Guess not. Thanks guys

will undoing the harness reset the settings or not. I'll probably write everything down just to be safe.

Not to create more work for you but, you may want to take this oppurtunity to solder the connections.

Good point guys... hopefully the person that installed it did it the right way.
But if you didn't do the install, don't attempt this. You should be able to expose the ECU to see if this has been done, but if not find someone that knows what they are doing to do it.
