im trying to make a stepdown harness for my z6 dizzy to work on my obd2a harness...now, im getting mixed stories about just matching the colors or that they cant be match and i have to find a diagram that shows me how to convert it....i found the diagram but the colors they list for the obd2 plug are totally different than mine....what do i do?

 

you go off location. color has nothing to do with it. 100% sure just did a obd1 car to a obd2 dizzy. and vise versa. just did them both last week.

 

u sure bout off location? i asked someone else bout that and they said no way, you gotta color match it...then ppl say dont color match....i think im gonna make 2 diff harness's n see which one works....

 

o.k. waste your time I've done pry 20 swaps going obd1-2 and another 10 goings obd2-1 and everytime it's on location I said I'm 100% sure. someone vouch for this.

 

It's true, color doesn't necessarily mean anything. Here's a little diagram of what to match up:

i looked at both harness's that i made and the wires in both go to the same exact location when i did color to color or direct ....and they both work!! i guess i have one for sale now!
