usdm GSR ys1 final drive ring gear tooth count?? somebody help please
I have a '92 usdm ys1 GSR transmission and I'm trying to find out what the tooth count is on the ring gear since I can't seem to fid it anywhere after searching for a while. I'm looking to install a JDM lsd and it's supposed to be a 4.4 FD like my GSR but it would be really nice to know the tooth count of my GSR so I'll know even before I open it up.
i think your gonna need the final drive gear with the lsd. the bolt patterns are -different on the jdm gsr's from the u.s counterparts. also it would be good to use the countershaft from the jdm also. even the u.s ls's from have a 4.40 final drive so you cant identify it that way. you need to figure up the gear ratio's. also the jdm gsr does have a 4.40 final also. hope this helps you some
98 spec jdm type-r 4.785=67 tooth
ls tranny=64 tooth
us spec gsr,b16, and type r 4.4 fd=66 tooth ring gear
you should have a 4.4 in that tranny
ls tranny=64 tooth

you should have a 4.4 in that tranny
