anyone know if we can fit smaller brake calipers on the r , look inside why
i want to be able to roll on 13's at the track , but dont want to change the whole hub assembly to the4 lug , can i go with smaller calipers and maybe rotors and find some 13inch wheels in 5 lug to get some nice size slicks on?
or is the only way to swap the whole hub assem?
thanks in advance.

.....those darn 2.0 60ft times on slicks eh?
It's gonna be a shitload of trouble for sure.....
Maybe try Brian @ Fastbrakes?

It might even be more affordable to get some 92-95 Civic Si arms/hubs/etc.
Its really not that hard to swap them all out.
(3) Cotter Pins
(3) 17mm bolts
(1) 32mm drive axle bolt
Plus you have a balljoint puller. Labor for all of this is under an hour.

i know its cake , but i dont have the time to keep changing back abd forth i have the parts in the garage to do the hub change, but changing after every race and changing for every race, , . . . to omuch hassle and less race time. . .
yes these 2.0 60 fts are killing me . im gonna try some thing else with these slicks 1st, but im looking for more meat . . . . any bigger slicks that willl clear my fenders?

For street use you could use the 4 lug front brakes with no problem.
I'd leave them on most of the time if I was a drag racer. Maybe even convert to a GSR brake setup.

what 60ft times are you getting? I hit 1.7 60fts with slicks on stock rims. Just up your power and learn how to launch better.
I've seen some totally stripped down Japanese race ITRs swapped from a 98spec 5-lug to a Civic 4-lug for the purpose of reducing unsprung weight (not drag racing). Maybe the Spoon calipers are too expensive? Or maybe the rule doesn't allow non-Honda brakes? I'm not sure.
If the car is light enough that should not be a problem, and of course it depends on the specific driving style too.

im hitting 2.0's and im looking for 1.7's. . . . trust me when i tell you im burring you with power, Im gonna be pushing anywhere from 280ish to 300 whp in the next week .
right now im doing about 250 whp
and like 180 ish all motor.
with or without the bottle i still get 2.0 60 fts.
i tried going all the way down to 10 psi and still not hooking like i need . someone told me even lower, so im gonna try that and lower the rear, i jacked up the rear to a bit over stock height and lowered the front a bit to try and cut back on body rocking durring shifting . . . . still didnt work .

see if your hitting 2.0 with 250whp then your doing something wrong. I hit 1.7 60fts with 250whp. And my weight is 2650 with driver. My tires were MT 22x8x15 on stock rims.
As for buring me with power with 280-300whp, lets see it. Power isn't everything if you can't hit the times. Heck I was hitting 1.8 60fts with 220whp a year ago. Oh yeah my psi on the slicks are 11psi.

well thats what im saying there is something wrong . . i dont knwo what ive haev tried everything and running out of money and patience.
I slip the clutch , dump the clutch , higher pressure, lower pressure, traction bars, coilovers, motor mounts, slicks, street tires. . . .. i just cant figure it out.
i didnt mean the power thing in that way , i just meant its not a power issue, i know people with alot less than 200 whp and hitting 1.7-1.8 60 fts. . . . i just meant that was deff not the issue.

so whats happening when you launch? Are you spinning the tires, is the clutch just slipping, or is the car bogging off the line?
well before the susp stuf i just blew all this money on . it was wheel hop .. . . now i did the susp stuff , its just spinning off the line . i tried launching anywhere from 7k -about 7500 and its hooking , but spinning a bit too much while doing it . . its not bogging at all right now . it used to though. . i think im gonna try a bit lower launch too , along with lower tire pressure , less burnout, and the rear susp a bit lower.
I couldnt get better than 1.99 on 22x8x15 slicks.
switched to 22x8x13s and got 1.6-1.7 on average.
Now im probably going to go to a 24.5x8x13

i know a few people who did 1.7 on 8x22x15, incognito is one of them . and im doing the same thing he is . . . there is another dude from ny , with a jdm kit on it and **** , supposedly sponsored by skunk 2 .. . . he owns eastside customs or soemthing ,, , he did 1.7's with em too
im starting to think i do too , but my times show otherwise. .. so i deff have the top end to more than make up for it . . . but that 60 ft is whats killing me .
ok well fast breaks said i could prob roll with a 10 in rotor and some ls or gsr calipers and that should do the trick , but i would have to drill out the rotor for 5 lug to make em work . . . . i think im gonna do some more research on that and see if this is workable.
