So my b16 swap is complete in my car but now im having problems with it. When I turn on my car, it will die unless i hit the gas acouple of times and then it runs fine from there on. Is it the idle control or something else? Another quick problem while im asking for help is vtec is wired up but its not working. I think it could be that the ETC sensors are bad because while driving, the temp will sunddenly drop back down to cold. There is/are CEL(s) but the thing that you would wire up to is missing so there is no way to find out the CEL(s).

Please dont flam me or anything, as I have searched and will continue to search to find answers and also I dont wanna be hasseld because Im not in a good mood because this swap is starting to get on my nerves

 

As far as your idle. the idle air control valve could be clogged. its job is to bypass air around the throttle plate when its closed at idle. It could be stuck closed.

 

Get those ETC's working properly first, as they are an important input to the pcm. I'd check fuel pressure as well even though it sounds like more of a lack of air problem.

 

ok well first of all...does it happen when its cold,,,hot,,,, or does it matter...i would check the idle control valve... make sure all the vacum hoses are hooked up prop.... to make sure you dont have any vack leaks..... and v-tech not hittin could be a lot of things...could be ecm...could be the v-tech syleniod....your going to have to get some more info on that..what kind of ecm are you running... just kinda need some more info... wish ya the best with the swap....
