How many R driver's do not have a front plate on the car. Do you get pulled over by the police constantly? If so what is the excuse you find works best?

I don't run a front plate and have never gotten pulled over

 

In CA, I was told that it's not fix it ticket anymore so I've kept my front plate all the time

 

I got a fix it ticket for not having a front plate and clear signals. Had the plate in the front window. When i got pulled she asked me why it wasnt on the front bumper to which i replied "I read the vehicle code and it says it has to be displayed on the front of the vehicle". She didnt like me responding with a "smart" answer and wrote me the ticket.

 

No front plate for me, no problems from the pigs.

Some states don't need a front plate but mine is one that does unfortuneatly. I will not put it on because of the sheer ugliness of it on the R. I've been told that a cop has to have another reason to pull you over but then can write you a ticket for not having a front plate if he's in the mood. I've not had any problems with it in two years, knock on wood!

i always get pulled over for no front plate I usually get out of the ticket though because they write the ticket, and tell me to come by the station to show them I put it back on, and they cancel the ticket, plus my boy is on the local police squad yeeeeah

cops that pull you over for no front plate because they have nothing better to do than harrass you

 

How could you tell if the cop has other reason for pulling you over? It is been my eperience with PIGS, that they pretty much do what they like when pulling people over...
BTW, I live in Toronto... so, some Canadian experiences would be great... no offense you Yankee's

Unfortunately, Cops here in Nebraska have nothing better to do than to harass you I'm rockin' the front plate now after getting a $72 ticket. Fawk that ISH

i usually run over the plate a few 10 times , make it look real ugly them tell the cop it fell off on the freeway and it keeps falling off, so i had to put it on the windsheild....and plus if i were to ever run a red light they would probably get a better picture of my plate on the windsheild than on the bumper at speed.......~the only reason required that yyou have a front plate is cause of red light runners....so the camera can take a pick of the plate....thats why if your plate is in the grill like some stunna with body kits, ya still get a ticket.....but what they should really do is have a motion detector on the front to detect the light runner, and a camera on the back side to take the picture....beleive me if you going about a hundered trying to run a red light the camera aint gonna get a shot of the front plate.....

 

I refuse to make the cops job of hitting me with laser that much easier. Most plates now have a reflective material either in the color or in the center as a stamp. They CLAIM this is to prevent fraud plates, but I know why its there... Too lazy to turn around and shoot the laser at my rear...


Its required, but Ive never been pulled over or ticketed for it. Just asked where it was.. Reply with the dumb, I didnt know I had to use it answer and Im out of it. CT always sent 2 plates but only 1 was required but now its 2. Im refusing to use it.

Used to have no front plate, until I got 2 tickets for it... I've decided I'm not gonna give the police any excuses to pull me over, except if I am blatently doing something illegal.

No problems so far...when I purchased the car I told the dealer not to even bother putting it on and that was about 2 years ago. I've gotten one ticket in the R and the cop didn't say anything even after doing a walk around, so it all depends on the ociffer i guess.

Dont you live in Florida? If so it isn't illegal.

Im in NY and I ran my GSR w/o a front plate for a year until I got a ticket for it. But my question is not all cars have a spot for a front plate on the bumper - ie: New Corvettes so how do they get away with it? The law is still the law. A 100% stock car with no front plate any nobody bothers them!!!

 

i've had one ticket for no plate..but then i was cruising a local street racing sopt in my g1 red g1 with 17 inch white wheels , and a gutted interior....and bright h4 conversion headlights, so i was kinda asking for it.....

 

dont keep it in your dash unless you wish to be decapitated.

No front plate and no problems. I see lots of cars and trucks running around here without front plates...

 

Its got a front plate... Where the Vette logo is on the nose. That piece comes off and t looks ugly as phawk...

 

I do not find it odd that people who call cops "pigs" have problems with the law.

In my experience, I've always found that treating them with respect goes a long way.

So if it wasn't for police problems you'd be using those mad tiiite blue bulbs?

 

I have no problems with the law... except when you NEED a PIG they are NEVER around and when you do not, they show up like a BAD SMELL!
