I have 2000 SI and was interested in doing a block swap with a 1995 GSR. What is involved with this swap.

The block and head line up. I am pretty sure you have to use a combination of Si and Gsr motor mounts though... I could be wrong.

You will have to use the oil pump from your engine if it fits. If not get a 96+ GSR oil pump, you need the crank angle sensor that is in the 96+ hondas. Plus, you will need a GSR timing belt...and that is about all I can think of.

nothing going to happen really you lose compression with the b16 head and displacement.. i had this setup going with my gsr block and i didnt feel any faster but when i went to dyno it i lost like 25 horses to the wheel.. you really dont feel it the only thing you will feel is in the top end wont pull like it would with the gsr head

Why not put some higher dome pistons in the block to make up the difference. A nice set of CTR or ITR high compession pistons would help a lot. Would help make up some of the quench (sp) area. Just a thought and the pistons are not that high anyhow. Might look into some ENDYNE pistons also....

u will lose compression but u will NOT lose displacement. displacement is bore and stroke NOT combustion chamber volume. ur CR will b 9.6:1

i had that setup (b18c1 block and 99 si head) and i was pretty damn quick. although, my b18c block was fully built 12.0 compression. dont do this unless you decide to put new pistons in.

All you need is gsr head bolts since your using a gsr block and a gsr t. belt and your set...new oil pump would be good
