I'm in the process of composing a list/itinerary for a little "tour of duty" to the dc/md/va area and i need any info about import tuners w/ dyno tuning on or near premises...thanks!
there are quite a few. here's a list of tuners with a dyno on the premise...

Altered charged 4doorH22 $185 for an hour of tuning last week. I personally don't like their tuning services, especially since I was charged for two hours a long time ago, when I only got 8 dyno runs. The tuner spent more time in his office doing paperwork instead of paying attention to my car.
Also outrageously expensive. No thanks.
Even though I have my own connection for dyno-tuning, I'd love to have Steve Sakai doing my next dyno tuning session (although I don't need one right now). You can PM him at sgT (he's your friendly Tech Moderator), or go to his website: http://www.sgt-racing.com. Steve's a great guy, trustworthy, experienced, and offers competitive tuning rates.

the reason i didn't include him was because i gave a list of tuners with dynos in house.
I've never had my car tuned @ autothority but i must say that alteredatmosphere is a very very good and trustworthy shop. they've raised their prices (from when I was there a couple years ago) but their techs are good and Mike (the owner) is an incredible guy.
Mike was the one who tuned my car, and I wasn't too pleased with him going to his office for 15-20 minute periods during my dyno tune.

Mike charged me for 2 hours, but it took close to 3. I think I only was able to get in 8 dyno runs
. I don't know why, but the dyno run was far from impressive. Just to make sure we're talking about the same Mike, he's a shop manager I think, white, younger 30s probably. There's a Mike Kim up there too, but I don't think I've ever heard of him dyno tuning.
James from CDE tuned mine a few months later on a Saturday up at Altered, and did a great job. Then again, James knows my car a lot better since he's wrenched on it on many occasions.

Yeah, that's the same Mike. Sorry to hear about that, I've had him tune my car and it was a pretty good experience. Then again, that was a couple years ago when they were smaller. i'm sure it's hard running a business and doing the tuning?
anyway, i don't go there anymore cause it's too much of a hike from Fairfax.
