Default Delsol street/drag car Q???

hey guys, im currently in the middle stages of my build . ls/vtec turbo with a Hp goal of 600whp .. i want to compete in alot of the events in my area (exp). nopi, boti,IW. my ? is if the delsol is a good platform to run 10"s .... also if i run 10's im going to need a roll cage. the rule is 8point cage - how would i acomplish that in a delsol? - or is there different rules for that type of car? any advise would be great.. thanks

It's been two hours during the middle of the work day, what do you want?

The answer is you will need a 10-point cage if you run quicker than 9.99 or faster than 135 MPH. A 600 WHP Honda will trap faster than 135 MPH, so you will need to run a full cage. There are no different rules for different cars, save for Convertible cars having more strict rules. It's not like the track inspectors say "Oh, it's hard to put a cage in that car, so we're gonna be a bit more lax on the rules. Feel free to have a car that's less safe than everyone else." There are a few guys with Del Sol's on here running quick so it is definitely possible to put a cage in it, you shouldn't have to have bars going through the back window either. Talk to some of then, Jason Pennman is the only one who comes to mind off the top of my head who was going really fast with a Sol. There's also those guys with the JDM ITR front end on their Sol in the 9's, so look 'em up.

Have down loaded the NHRA rule book from the NOPI site ?

rota92 can hook you up with Fabman in NH or search the member list.

I'm sure others can recommend shops in your area. Your close to the big city, so there should be someone close.
