Default 1992 Prelude Stock Molding Assembly Roof Color

Check out the Molding Assy. at this link, R. Roof and L. Roof. This is the strip above the doors that run horizontal.

I see many red preludes with the molding as black, but what is stock? They make Milano Red modlings, are these milano red moldings stock on the Milano Red 1992 Prelude? Does anyone know for sure. It looks like they are milano red moldings in the advertisements. TIA.

most of the ones i've seen are black. i think some people paint them the color of the car, but i think they came stock black. not 100% though....

Vtec models had the option of the moldings to be, brittany blue green, milano red,and granada black.

Si models had the option to be, black, granada black, milanored, sebring silver, and frost white.

S models are same as si options.

So in conclusion they can be color'd matched or just black, my milano red vtec model is just black. Sebring silver and and solid black im coming up through my catalog as no longer able to order.

Ok, thanks lsjon and prelude_h22vtec, it makes sense that there was an option.

Wow, that really helps, thanks! Solved us a lot of doubt of which route to go in having the car restored and repainted according to stock specs.

Another question is, what does the molding entail, is it rubber? Colored rubber for non-black? Or is it just aluminum strip? I don't know if 75 each is worth justifying for these. Can you post some pictures of your molding on the red prelude? Close up and probably far out shot from a higher angle? The prelude we're restoring is Red, so it'll be nice to see yours and help us decide if its black or red, as our final route.

thanks,
Beepboy

Its not rubber but I dont know if it is plastic or metal (I would guess plastic) I have never had mine off. My Brittany Blue Si 4WS is body colored.

typically most of the body molding, have metal in them with a rubber or plastic outside. if its color matched i would lean more towards plastic.
