I redline the car and i don't hear what I want to believe is vtec engaging. I can't tell if it's the secondary buttefly or the vtec. what i know is that my intake air bypass solenoid clicks when i give it 12+ and GND. I assume it's good.

to test the vtec:
can i just stick a probe up the vtec control valve (2 terminals) with 12+ and GND to see if it clicks? what about the vtec pressure switch?

 

if your vtak isn't crossing over maybe your oil is low.

 

oil is no problem. i just did an oil change.

 

today, i just tested solenoid. the thing clicks when 12v is applied and shows 14ohm on the multimeter. i will be changing the oil again tomorrow. we'll see what's up. maybe the butterfly is not openning, but the the IAB solenoid also clicks when i apply 12v and gnd.

 

you might wanna change the gasket/filter for the solenoid

 

i will definitely do that. i saw lots of crap in my oil when i changed it this weekend.
