Default GSR Motor condition

I went to look at a b18c1 motor with a tranny that has a punctured hole in it. How do i tell if its any good? he has another gsr tranny that he is will to throw in, but how do i tell if the tranny or motor is good? and how do i find if the motor is legit? please let me know

As far as the head theres no way to tell if its stollen but the vinn # on the block can be given to a certain place i think the reff station they look up the vinn and will tell you if its stollen ! you cant really tell if the tranny is good untill you put it in and drive it and the motor you might be able to do a leak down test but its still a gamble

yea , but i asked him to remove the spark plug cover and wen he did it was really dusty, and i asked him to remove the spark plugs but he didnt. selling for 1200 mite be too good of a deal.

How did the hole get in the tranny? it could have broken rods in the block and or have bent valves, the hole in the tranny prabally coused more damage to the motor its probally why hes selling it. you should find out or at least ask him how it happened and the reason for selling $1200 is a deal if it includes a gsr tranny thats not damaged. give him $900 obo and rebuild it on a budget

the whole thing just sounds shady to me. check the vin with the dmv/police and just call around.

wut i heard is 95 obd1 motor dun got vin. and he said the tranny got a hole cause he dropped da motor wen he was pullin it out. eh looked like a shady person so im not going with it. its hard to find a legit usdm 94-95 motor these days.

no man i seen that motor on craigslist and i think it is a f**k up motor!
