95 civic si clutch problems
hey everyone.. maybe someone has some ideas. i recently changed my motor and trans, 1.6 vtec, i took the new motor and trans out of running and driven car 98km, dropped in complete.. 4hrs, but.. now my clutch is having issues, first half inch when u put ur foot on the clutch is like just air, then after that half inch u can feel the clutch releasing, then at the bottom the clutch engages right off the floor, and there is also really bad virbration only in first when engaging. but after when driving there is lots of power and no slipping. i think i am going to try bleeding it agian??? could also be weak pressure plate maybe???if anyone has any ideas id like to know be4 i rip out the trans again...
well i bled it again still the same.. but i took it out for a drive.. i guess ill deal with it untill i do my b20 swap.. btw.. anyone local vancouver looking for factory parts 92 -00 civic/integ.. get ahold of me...
are ou bleeding it right?? u need 2 people. first have one person break the bleeder valve loose, then have the other person in the car press and hold the clutch pedal to the floor till the person under the hood tightens the valve then release the pedal and repeat this 3 to 4 times
no im bleeding it right... and so there is supposed to be some almost like air gap at the top of the petal? when u first step on it? but what about coming out right at the bottom? with hydraulic should always realse about halfway regardless of clutch condition no?

yes there should be an "air gap" (freeplay), but it shouldnt engage right off the floor. on a hydraulic clutch there are two adjustments, pedal freeplay (air gap) and pedal height (distance the pedal is from the floor), should be about 6 1/2 in., freeplay is 1/2-3/4in. both of these can affect how the clutch engages. the "shutter" could be clutch chatter or a bad motor/trans mount
