i been reading alot of forums on here,,,..seems im only 1 n a million with this problem....ok this what happened....i went to the gym ,,,on the way back my car shut down....my electricity n the car begin blinking till the whole car just shuut down....it wouldnt strt back u til after about 15 mins of letting it sit.....its been sitting in my driveway about 2 weks now....it turns over but no sparks...my headlights work,radio works,,>>>>but my blinkers,dash lights, windows , sunroof, dont work........from research i think its the ignition switch. is there any way i can check if its the switch. HELP me please.

 

use your test light to see if there is power at the Black/yellow stripe wire at the dist when the key is turned on.
remove the lower steering column shroud and LOOK at the solder joints on the back of the ignition switch. Sometimes bad switches will have "frosty" or melted solder joints.

 

what is a dist...?? dist short for "distributer"? im better with pictures....i already removed the covers n stuff so everything under my steering wheel is revealed.....is there any pix u could show me of these tools and wirings your reffering to.

 

first do you have a check engine light on when you first turn the key on do it go out in abt two sec if it does if you have no light check your grounds check all your fuses and stick a test light it the green wire of the coil with it plugged in and crank the car it should blink if it does then you ignition control module is fine

 

no ...my check engine light wasnt on and im not sure if its on now cuz none of my dash lights work.

 

check all your fuses does your fuel pump kick on

when you turn the key on you shoul hear it or u can have someone turn the key on and listen at the fuel rail u should hear a humming noise from inside and it should quit when the cel goes out

Ok.....i had a mobile mechanic check it out....he seemed to know what he was doing. .....he checked all my outlets with his little check light....he got power from all the outlets except from the wire running from the comp. under the passenger side floor. .........does this sound any way relevant to my symptoms.

 

Make sure you check the Main Relay.
That is what was wrong with my 1990. We thought it was the fuel pump and went through a lot of unneccesary work and expense. Just Google 'Honda Accord Main Relay' to learn more about this device.

 

did your car have the same symotons as mines.....: blinkers dont work, dash lights dont work, turns over but dont start, no spark?
