Default Clutch & Flywheel Question

Not sure if this belongs here but im not getting much response in the 92-00 civic section.

I recently picked up a 93 hatch with a b16 that has a cable transmission. The car needs a new clutch (the one in there right now is a bit overkill) but i dont know which clutch kit i should be going with.

I searched a little bit and figured out that any b-series flywheel will bolt up to the engine how ever the clutch is specific to the transmission due to the splines on the input shaft (correct me if im wrong)

So with all that said lol what car do i tell the parts guy when im trying to get a clutch kit?

Also if anyone has any suggestions to any good clutch kits for the b-series lmk. thanks

Your problem with the clutch being overkill may be the result of the hyd to cable conversion not in the clutch itself.

i dont mean the clutch is too stiff. theres a stage 2 clutch and it just grabs too hard. regardless, what cars came with b16's that had cable transmissions?

you are going to need a 90-93 integra clutch. but the problem is that 90-91 has a smaller input shaft then the 92-93. so im not sure whitch on you are going to need. i have a jdm j1 b16 tranny in my ls swapped crx and i had to use the 90-91 integra clutch. do you know what tranny you have? there should be a sticker on it that has the tranny code(ex. j1 s1 ys1 ect)

the sticker should be right on the front side of the tranny just to the left of where the engine code on the block is.

finally got a chance to look at it in the light. It looks like there was a sticker right to the left of the B16A stamp on the block, how ever there is nothing on that sticker now. The only markings i can find is a YSK in a circle then a 1 on the transmission right below the distributor. This is a big pain in the *** lol. Im not sure if it would help at all but cruisin at 70 MPH in 5th im usually sittin at 4k, i cant find any info on the later b-series trans but this one is pretty short geared atleast compared to my d15b7. Someone please help
