I have a AEBS intake manifold on my LS/VTEC and I am planning on runnung a 2.75" cold side pipe w/ my setup and was wondering what would be a good/largest size throttle body I can fit on that intake manifold. My setup is a GE sleeved block w/ all of the goodies, a Peakboost top mount manifold, and a Turbonettics T-66 turbo. The intercooler size is 12x31x3" and I want to run 2.5" out of the turbo and 2.75" from the intercooler to the motor. I am shooting for 550+ whp. I know that the Edelbrock is one of the best for FI, but I really don't want to spend a ton of money at this point. I was looking at the BDL 70 mm, but I am also running the Hondata replacement map sensor and it didn't look like their throttle bodies have a provision for the sensor. Any input would be great. Also I am running 750 cc injectors. What is the most HP I can get out of them? I think I will have to go with some 1000 cc ones.

Well if you have an aebs intake manifold I would say to measure the diameter of the intake on it....then go with a throttle body that size. B/c lets say the opening on it is 65mm...theres really no point to get a TB thats bigger then that b/c you dont have the manifold ported out to match it. Which means it would come in the bigger throttle body and just hit the manifold since its not equal, which will effect flow...and if want 550+ i'd get some bigger injectors as well. No sense it running your injectors at 100% duty cycle to get the power you want.

 

Yea I am going to upgrade to 1000 cc injectors this summer and thats when I was going to run the bigger throttle body. I was just wondering what throttle body people are running on their AEBS manifolds. But thanks for the info.

 

AEBS IM has 65mm intake, professional products makes a 65mm tb and has provisions for stock mapsensor... as well there inexspensive and ive never heard of one fail/stick/bind.
