Default Gearbox / transmission / tranny Rebuild

I have done some searching and not really come up with a definate answer as to what is recommended to do when rebuilding a gearbox.

I have a gearbox I want to rebuild before I put it in my car. I have heard of the following things:

1. Heat Treated Gears
2. Stronger Synchros
3. Shorter Gear Ratios
4. Final Drive Change
5. LSD Install

The gearbox code is an M2A4 and I have looked at the gear ratios thread (from the FAQ) but I am not sure what is going to be best for my H23/Vtec Turbo Motor.

I have a cusco LSD which I will get installed too. It has adjustable ratios, what is best for my application?

If you guys can offer any insight into what can/should be done to a gearbox while its out and getting it rebuilt, please post it here...

whatever you do don't get lower ratios. You will just spin the wheels.

Yeah I'm from Brisbane QLD Australia and we call it a Gearbox here.

I'm not ready to get a whole tranny shipped to australia - I think that would cost $$$
