I have done some searching and not really come up with a definate answer as to what is recommended to do when rebuilding a gearbox.
I have a gearbox I want to rebuild before I put it in my car. I have heard of the following things:
1. Heat Treated Gears
2. Stronger Synchros
3. Shorter Gear Ratios
4. Final Drive Change
5. LSD Install
The gearbox code is an M2A4 and I have looked at the gear ratios thread (from the FAQ) but I am not sure what is going to be best for my H23/Vtec Turbo Motor.
I have a cusco LSD which I will get installed too. It has adjustable ratios, what is best for my application?
If you guys can offer any insight into what can/should be done to a gearbox while its out and getting it rebuilt, please post it here...
