Default Bearings gone bad?

I've been hearing a ticking noise thats definately RPM related, from 1000 to 2300 RPM (on the tach) it sounds perfect and has a deep alarm-offsetting tone to it. but under load over that RPM it'll make a ticking noise. The ticking noise almost sounds like it ticks once every revolution. When I first heard this noise I checked the oil level and sure enough it was on the low dot. I was glad it hadn't seized yet and thought I was good to go. Can anyone give insight on the ticking noise? oh and only when in gear, in neutral I can rev to the redline tuned at 5500 without the ticking noise. I'll be checking for intercooler piping/exhaustpiping and everything to make sure thats not the ticking

I'm almost positive it isn't the valves that need adjusting because I've had another prelude in the past and the ticking was very different. Ill get a video up soon as I can figure out how to post a good vid.

I'm just worried because I'm running on a base tune and don't want to waste money on a final tune if my motor's about to give up. (I have the stock VINmatched h22 sitting in my garage, so worst case scenario ill be swapping it back in and selling the lood)

thanks for anyone that can help
