How do you know if your AC compressor clutch is engaging?
I've never worked on an AC system before so am clueless as to what this means. What am I suppose to look for? The car is a 95 Civic. Thanks.
you should here a moderatly loud "click" come from the front of the compressor, also you can look at the front and you'll see the clutch moving, the clutch is the piece on the front of the compressor that is in the center of the pully
How would I know if the clutch is moving? When I turn on my engine, the whole front part of the compressor moves due to the AC belt moving it. Should I be doing this with the engine off?

cut the engine off and look at the front of the comp., if you look at the front of the comp. the clutch is the devise that rides on the hub of the comp if you're feelin froggy you can even reach down and check to see if you can spin it(ENGINE OFF) the part you can spin is in the center this is the clutch, once you see what i'm talking about start engine and cut ac on, if its working you will see this part spinning at engine speed
