my third gear grinds so i did some searching and some people use GM syncromesh. i have 4qt of redline mtl at work. would redline mtl help with the third gear grind?

 

If your transmission is grinding...it means that something is wrong. No fluid is going to magically fix it. It may quiet it down but, is not doing anything more. The longer you leave it that way...the worse it gets and the more parts it damages. If you are not going to use OEM fluid be damn sure to use something similar to the viscosity of OEM fluid or you will destroy your trans.

 

so all those stories people post about syncromesh are bs

 

No, think of it like this.

You break a bone.
I give you morphine.
You don't hurt as much, your bone is still broken.

It's a fix me up until you can properly assess the situation.

Good way to put it but in a healthy tranny I still like running snyrcomesh I think it's a good fuild.
