NO it wont pass because its Jspec only motors released here (i mean US spec) will pass smog a del sol b16 or 2000 SI

You can reff any J-spec engine. You just need all the usdm sensors on it. Some on the intake manifold and one for the oil, I think. You need an usdm ecu also.

Incorrect...There HAS to be a USDM equvilant wich there is not...a JDM b16 has the B16a2 and a3...the JDM b18c-r has the b18c1 and c5. There is no USDM counter part for the b16b it wont pass....not now, trust me i know i went to 5 different places and each one nailed me right off the bat. So i moved no more smog checks w00t

it really depends on the refs, some might let you slide. the important factor is that as long as your motor passes the sniffier test. the refs have control but on a sniffier test they can't do nothing. in my case the ref didn't know or whatever anyways I tired to pass and my car kept failing the sniffier test. so in the end I just said [freak] it..

make the ref on your side and tell him that its a b16a3 equivalent motor and make sure your b16b motor passes the sniffer you should be good!

most of this all depends on how bitchy the refs are. the visual part if they fail you on that and your car passes the sniffer you still fail! so make them your friend and go from there..

good luk!
