Need some Rattle Can advice
I would like some advice on doing a temp rattle can job. I already started to do some bondo and body work on my car and I would like to paint the car with some rattle cans until im willing to pay for a real paint job. I would like something dark seeing as how my cars original color is that dark charcoal grey. I would prefer a satin finish, but a dark primer or black finish similar to the duplicolor T90 or T95 (dont remember).
Can anyone give me some advice on how to make my car look respectable while doing a rattle can job.
Thanks

if the car is glossy, and your doing spot repairs.... it wont really look that great.
most in the can paints dont match oem colors. you can get close but with the amount of pearls in most OEM paints it makes it noticable.
if you are glossy everywhere else ( like your paint has a good clear coat still ) then you should do a gloss spraypaint.
prep the area well, just like if you would when painting it with "good" paint.
people dont realize that no matter what you do, no matter what paint your using, the prep still matters.
if you want "Satin" you can try semigloss... but it wont match anything else on the car unless you paint the whole thing. and im not sure they have semigloss grey.

how so?
i have sanded down a rattle can job to prep for real paint, and there wasnt any extra time/ steps needed.
but i do agree if you plan on painting it with real paint soon, might as well just do that.
