Default ticking persists after valve adjustment

I have a tick that I can't figure out. It is noticable at idle and up from outside the car. I adjusted the valve clearance and no change. I have a stethoscope and I cant tell where its really coming from but it seems like the most noise is coming from near the cam gear. the injectors arent the problem as the tick is quieter there. if it is still coming from the cam area what in that area would be ticking?

this may sound like a dumb question but have you checked your oil? or checked your rockers?

The oil is fine. What all needs to be checked on the rockers?

I have the same problem in my car, the ticking is still there after numerous valve adjustments, I've tried looser and tighter clearances within spec and it ends up with the same ticking especially when cold. I think some of the noise is the injectors but it can't be all of the noise.

I also had a sedan that I just sold that has essentially the same engine, a d16a6 and it didn't seem to tick near as much though it had a lot more insulation so maybe harder to notice.

What engine do you have?

The B16 has a common ticking problem associated
with the "lost motion assemblies"..

I get pretty bad ticking when the motor is cold.... but once warmed up it's fine, should I get my valves adjusted?
