Default has anybody ever done this.

i have a 98 accord auto yeah imagine that.i took the tranny out and went and got what i thought was an exact tranny.the only thing and i mean only thing"but this was after i got the new tranny in.there is a box down on the side that has a 10 prong connector "this is 98 auto tranny".the tranny i got came out of a acura cl and the only thing that is different is that the cl does not have the 10 prong plug "everything else plugs up.

i was gonna get the computer from the cl and plug it and hope for the best.they both have the same exact engine.except for the problem i stated.

here is another question.is that plug solely for the tranny or is it for other crap to.i would really appreciate some help fella's.

why didn't you take it back or ask questions. i don't know the engine code for the 98 but i am not aware of mixing acura and honda components without modifications. i'd assume you throw a cel if something wasn't right though. with it being auto, its possible.

look, just try starting her up and driving her. that will answer lots of questions. the 98 cl is a 2.3 like the 98 accord. the 94-97 accord will run with that tranny. the prob is you dont know if it does or not the way it is cuz u havent tried it. just try and let us know. we ARE here to help u!

ok here is the out come:

both cars do not have seperate computers for the trans.everything is in the ecu.i took my ecu and went to a junk yard and found a 97 cl w/same motor and everything.so i took that computer out and plugged mine straight in.i trully think it is gonna work and will know shortly.i kind of figured it would work once i seen the plugs on the cl.but like i said i will know shortly.
