Default HELP!!! Doors locking when emergency brake is engaged.

hey guys/gals, i drive a 94 integra gsr. recently i have been having this problem when i engaged the e brake the doors automatically lock. the car has a compustar two way alarm but the brain is currently out and being shipped back for a replacement unit because i thought that was the problem. i got the compustar unit removed last week and everything was fine until today. it is raining and that is usually when it acts up when the alarm is working and in place but today it started doin it while the alarm is inactive due to the the computer being shipped back. i dunno what it could be. has anyone else experienced anything like this with their integra? any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Jimmy.

How do the doors lock? Are the actuators engaging for a short duration pulse, or is power constantly being supplied?

everytime i pull the ebrake up the doors lock. when i put the ebrake down the doors stay locked but if i pull it up again while the doors are still locked i can hear the door actuators activate as if they were locking the door.

Do the acutators pulse or continue to hold while the e-brake is engaged?

they pulse and sometimes if i unlock the drivers side door to get out while the car is still running, when i go back a few miniutes later the door has locked again. so lately i just leave the window down a little bit so i can unlock it by reaching in. this problem is truly annoying and i am stumped. i have no idea what the issue is.

i also have the compustar alarm, except, when i pull the e-brake, my doors UNLOCK, and when i push the brake pedal, they LOCK, im just gonna assume that you have installed the wires backwards and its getting a reverse pulse to lock your doors instead of unlocking them.

this could possiby make sense if the alarm was actually in the car while this is going on. the alarm has been removed so i dont think it has anything to do with the alarm system.

The lock module could be seperate of the alarm brain. IDK for certain. That is why I asked if the actuators receive a pulse or a constant signal. A pulse could indicate that some module is controlling the locking.

maybe the internals for a lock switch are worn and easily make contact on the lock side. Try engaging the parking brake with the button pushed in so that it doesn't click. if your doors don't lock then the vibration transmitted through the car from pulling up the brake handle could be causing the doors to lock. The vibes from the engine would cause it in the running car situation. weird problems sometimes have equally odd causes
