Default possible clutch problems / synchros going out.. what should i do?

lets put aside the point of how much i bought the car for....
it is an 91 CRX Si, 182k miles.

but occasionally whenever i am shifting hard into second, it will grind. and sometimes when i am just driving normally it will grind going into third. also annoyingly half the time i want to go into reverse.

and also, whenever i am at a stoplight, sometimes the clutch will act like it tries to engage way before it normally should on the pedal, but yet even if i give it gas it doesnt TRULY engage until its at the normal spot.

so here is my question, with both of these problems, should i do the synchros myself, and just buy a new clutch/flywheel? OR. should i find an oem/better transmission or have it rebuilt?

thanks in advance.

Like everyone is supposed to be on here answering questions in the dead of night?

Yes, your trans needs a rebuild. Get a new clutch while you are in there.

In the meatime, tighten your clutch cable a little to see if it stretched.

i think it cost more to rebuild one than just buying another used one maybe around 400. But the the tranny would be as new.

Just my opinion, and I'm certainly no expert, but id do a rebuild. New synchros, bearing, and seal's. I plan on doing a rebuild to my tranny very soon (input shaft bearing is done for)

You should check these guys out, awesome stuff.
