Default IS THIS BUY A GOOD DEAL??

alright..im looking at a 98 accord ex sedan
the dealer is saying that i can leave out the door with it for $4100
its priced at $3999 plus dealershipp fee, tax, tag ect.
do you guys think 4100 out the door is a good deal??
it's clean in and out BUT...

clutch feels a little worn out..
the car has 164K
original stock color was purple..the car is silver now, so u can see the purple in the engine bay and the door jams..****'s pretty annoying
also i saw oil gunk near the left side of the engine bay..im not sure what it can be because the motor is no where near it..weird

i need some input before i go off and make the wrong choice
any help is appreciated..

its so hard to find a 6th gen sedan acrd without tan interior and 5speed.

can u see the purple jurple??

Why is it Silver? Body work and quickie spray job? Check the trunk and the floor rails to see if they are straight. Even check the fender aprons/inside engine bay to see if anything has been replaced.

The engine might be clean now, it could have been power washed to look clean...have a trusted mechanic look at it.

Car seems suspicious.

its actually a pretty clean paint job..looks like the stock honda silver
i was looking around the bay and everything seems good. the motor was actually a little dirty..so im not sure if they pressure washhed it or not..but ill be sure to take a closer look and see if anything has been replaced.

might be a good idea to have a carfax report done if you could. although even those are not 100%. my guess is that the car was in some sort of front end accident and was replaced with mostly silver parts so they just painted the rest of the car. check the radiator support and see what color it is, it should still be purple, if not i would be suspicious and be dropping the price.

Is the dealer offering any warranty?

If so some things could be bargained with.

Get it for $3500 or walk away. Definately take it to a mechanic before you purchase it. Have him check the fluids, alternator strength and the battery life. Also the brakes, struts and springs and suspension stuff looked at. honda paint is pretty good, so i'm guessing it was repainted for a reason. Find out why.

Sounds like a "builder" to me. $4100 seems awfully cheap for a 6th gen EX with 164k. Maybe the market is a little different in FL, but 6th gens up here seem to go for more around $5000-$7000. $4100 is more like a 5th gen price. I'd Carfax it and take it to a really reputable body shop and see if they find anything unusual.

look on craigslist, and buy from a owner, not a dealer. that car is bad joojoo.

do not buy any of the super low priced cars on craigslist sight unseen (it's a scam tommy)
