02 accord with F23 vtec automatic/turbo problems
Hello there everyone, i've got a 02 accord with a F23 vtec motor/auto tranny and i've added a TSI turbo kit that has a t28 garret turbo upgrade, map sensor, secondary injectors and driver and fmu. I had installed everything and ran it down the road nice and easy with the motors cutting out at about 2500-3000 rpm....after calling a fellow honda bud, we found that the motor was leaning out and and ordered 440's injectors, adjustable fuel regulator and fuel gauge. I adjusted everything and ran it again nice and easy down the road running into the same problem. Once again I called on a fellow honda guy(not the same guy) and he told me without a doubt I need too get an obd1 P28 thats tuned on crome.... i've done my research, finding out that crome doesnt support an F series motor, looked up hondata which doesnt support my motor/automatic combo either......I need some serious help here folks....i'm a born and raised mechanic here (for american made cars) and i'm having one hell of a time finding the right help with my problems.....any help would be greatly appreciated
Seriously, your best bet is to swap the tranny over from the F23 auto, which is a complete shitbox and either go to a f23, h22, or h23 transmission. I speak from experience because i actually just got a new transmission from the f23, with all the parts necessary to do the conversion. I ordered the AEM EMS, which is pricey, but at the same time will not require the OBDII to OBDI conversion and such. Im really busy right now so if you have questions ill be around this post to help answer any questions you may have. I left out about a million details and sound like a partial idiot, but im just strapped for time. Well keep this post going.
oh and by the way, i have a 99 accord EX auto so i feel your pain.

VERY difficult combination there...
As 99boostedaccord said, going to a 5-speed will really be your best, and probably easiest bet, as I can't even think of a tuning option that supports both.
After the tranny swap, converting to OBD1 and using a P28 or p72 ECU with a chipped EEPROM running crome is probably your cheapest/easiest way to go. After a good tune, you'd have a very respectable setup. The OBD1 conversion and ECU swap will probably cost you no more than $250.
But anyway, bump for someone with knowledge of tuning a auto/turbo OBD2 setup.
