Default My current paint project hatch for less than $100

before

this is how the car was for a while since the previous owner decided to quit halfway in priming. even the pass. side door was starting to rust w/ that huge dent that you can see. i took care of most of the bodywork except for the hood. replacing it w/ a carbon one

after

i sprayed a metallic blue but im still not finished. i still have uneven areas but arent too noticeable. more clearcoat, wetsanding, rubbing compound, and polish and i should be completely done. i don't think it turned out that bad for my first paint job

was this done with a spray can? and if so you should have taken care of uneven areas before you went to clear it

Looks like it was spray painted, if it wasn't you didn't adjust your gun properly.
But not to bad for first time.

even the water from the car wash can't make your paint shine! lol

Wow man - you couldn't even fix the dents in your hood?

Looked like a fresh steaming pile before the $100.

it looks better now. the pics i took were only when i had a couple coats on. i stated before that i wasn't finished. spraying at night w/ limited light made it hard to see where i missed but i fixed all that now. i'll post pics soon. as for the hood, i said i didn't care about fixing the dents as i would replace it w/ a carbon one. the only body work i did were all around the car esp. the major dents on the door. please read before posting, thanks

Looks pretty good to me... post some "after" pics of the completed project (dry).

Then why did you even bother painting it?

Who stops a paint job in the middle and washes the car?

Sad stuff. I would rather rock the primer...

Definately not a bad job so far. You will need more coats. But I'm sure it will turn out looking pretty good. I know I wouldn't have unmasked the car just to wash it though. I hate masking!

Should have saved 50$ and done the "50$ paint job" cause that looks like el shito and at least you would have money leftover.

It looks ok but you still need to work on it

ha. not really

looks like poop, with the time you invested in it, you should've gone with the better stuff and have a half decent finish
