Posting up for my cousin. 96 sohc vtec turbo. everything rewired and harness looks good..car runs great no problem. when he tries to pass inspection, his car will not make a connection with their system..has anyone experienced this...? any help will be great.

 

well what ecu does he have. if its an obd1 gsr ecu that was used for tuning for instance the inspection machine will fail it due to the computer being obd1 an the car being obd2.

 

its actually an obd2 gsr ecu...unsure of the program on it though..

stock ecu should be a P2P i beleive, and he could run that if he had a piggy back, otherwise its probably an obd1 ecu thats chiped to tune the motor

 

I think he is using a fmu..however that is not the issue..he is not making a connection..is there anything that would prohibit it from making a connection?
