Default What do you think about a personalized manifold?

About three months ago, I began marking my mani's with a dogtag. The tag names my company name, personal name, then allows one line of text specific to the customer if they want it. What's everyone think about it?

The appearance crew is a tough bunch....tough critics. Whatcha think?

It's funny because, there's already another fabricator on here that intends to do just that. Says his customers demands it, so he has no choice.

You know what would be cool? Put that tag right in the center, bridging the two center tubes. Then it would be a centerpiece, as well as a branding implement. Just my opinion, and I suppose putting it on that way is a sturdier spot, but that thing looks nasty! (in a good way). Great idea. If I had a welder, I'd do that all straight away to the parts on my car. Theft is ridiculous nowadays.

Yep that would be me, I already gave you credit to customers coming in that saw the manifold I did for one customer, sorry but when other customers walk in, put down over 2 grand on a turbo setup and tell me they want it like that, I'm not telling them no.

I'm not trying to hide the fact that you came up with it, thats why I sent you an IM to give you the heads up, so in fact you would not see a picture of my manifold and be totally shocked.

Takes 2 minutes to break off and make it look like its not even there, this is not going to prevent any thieve from reselling it.

May make thieves think twice if that kind of tedious trouble is going to be present on every part. If this becomes a mainstream thing, maybe people will start staying away from people selling parts with evidence of removed welded stamps, giving more time for the rightful owners to track down their parts, or the thieves responsible.

Either way, still just a nice little personalization for parts, even if it doesn't stop thieves.

Well, if customers came to you with money in hand, not taking my dogtag idea on principle certainly shouldn't make them turn and walk out the door right? It's a poor reason to hijack the idea is all I'm saying.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I really appreciate it
