Default Is this fixable?? Crack in bumper...

Hey guys,

I have a 2000 Civic DX hatch. The rear bumper has a crack in it right by the quarter panel. Is this repairable or should I just replace the entire bumper?

Don't mind the salt, I live in Ontario

All opinions welcome

You will be amazed how cheap a replacment bumper is, not worth fixing at all.

Very true. I can get the bumper for $50 CDN. Then to paint it will cost $150. And if I'm going to do that I will buy a CTR rear lip and get it painted at the same time and it will cost even more...

If it is possible to fix, I may consider it. Otherwise, I will go the above route.

Any other opinions welcome!

Well either way it will need paint, and to do properly the whole bumper should be re-cleared so prep time is pretty much the same as painting a new bumper, not to mention the time to fix it. If you want to try a DIY fix you could use some fiberglass mat and resin on the backside, or some purpose made adhesive to glu the bumper together then scuff, fill any remaining blems with putty, prime and paint. You could probably make it look decent with a rattle can color matched to your paint code and some clear.
