Default JDM Navigation for ek

Has anyone ever installed one of these on a USDM ek? Is it direct bolt on/plug in? Thanks for any info.

edit: I found out that I need to wire it into my car. Anyone ever done this? And is it worth doing it?

I'm sorry, but obviously someone put it and wired it into his car as seen in the photo. I think there was a quick writeup. Search for it. Use less keywords when searching to get more results.

Well a few people I know (I'm in the Navy) are very fluent in Japanese. So if I can get them to change the language on the settings I'm good. If you can do that.

I found that too. But thanks bro. I don't believe anyone has found a way to actually use it in the states.

How do you expect to load US maps in that thing? It was never designed to be used in the US, so I would imagine no maps even exist for that unit.

Good luck anyways...let us know if you figure it out.

You can't load US maps on it. Not even the early RL CD-ROM maps don't work in it. And everything after the early RL navi's were DVD-ROM.

I've read up on it, and I'm aware of all this information. But thanks. You can still use the touch screen for climate control, and I've been told that you can drive around and it will remember where you've gone, so I'm guessing it would be like making your own map?

Yeah, I was thinking about seeing if I can find one without the whole screen and put it an aftermarket one so i have the OEM look.
