why use wastegates instead of bov's, i'm guessing they can hold more pressure?

Because they aren't running those in place a BOV. Most REAL race cars don't have BOV's.

Awesome looking ride.

I think it's so you can lower the intake pressure big time for launches? BOVs aren't designed to regulate pressure.

Car is badass.

this is how it was explained to me:

the wastegate acts as a pop off valve for launch control.
say they want 50 psi at launch (pulling numbers out of my ***) and they run 80 on the pass.

they spool the turbo all the way, use the waste gate to let only 50 in the engine, that way the turbos are at full song when the clutch comes out.

hope that makes sense.

That is exactly what happens. They can't launch at full power, so the power lost by the turbos over-compressing the air is really a moot point. Wastegates on exhaust keep the turbos at max speed, wastegates on intake side decrease the power enough to get it out of the hole

I agree with that 100%! Po mods are ds shiznit! By the time they reach VA Motorsports Park in October, there's no telling how quick they'll be. It was two 5.9+ passes ran there last year. Cant wait to see this car up close and personal!
