Type R = 1, Thieves = 0 .... this time
I know I don't post much anymore, but I think some of you might appreciate a story.
It starts at 2:50 am when my alarm goes off. I grab my keys and run downstairs to my car where I find two thieves, one peeling back the window (just to find that I had RS door bezels) and another cutting some wires by my fender. There were two more thieves in the car that they were driving already. I run after them yelling and sprint so that I can see the car and get a good description. I fly back to my house (my feet torn up because I'm in my socks), and grab the phone and call the cops - giving them a description of the car and the thieves. Two minutes later an officer shows up at my door.
He takes down some information and then gets a call that they pulled over a car fitting the description I gave them. He asked if I could ID them if I saw them again and I said yes. So I hop into his car and we go to where they pulled the car over. By this time all four thieves were in handcuffs, sitting on the curb and there were four police cars behind him, I was in the fifth (mind you there were already two more at my residence). We rolled by and I positively ID the car and the thieves.
So I go back home and talk to the other officers for a bit, and eventually they go on their way. I get a call two hours later, saying that they arrested 3 of the 4 thieves and their car was impounded. So the thieves were caught, layered security may have saved my car (it gave me enough time to react at least), and my car will live to see another day... though now that they know where it lives... well, you know. I would say that next time I'd remember to grab the carjack handle that I keep next to my door... and maybe put on shoes. A camera wouldn't hurt either, but I'm just one man - I can only do so much.
No cliffnotes, read it or get bent.

Between this and the Skyline story in Calgary, would-be thieves aren't doing too hot lately!
Be careful with your ITR man.

Cliff notes: A dumbass kid that could be Andy Milocockis's twin brother test drives a guy's '91 Skyline and doesn't return it, get caught via web forums and folks that see him driving the Skyline around as if they were a dime a dozen...
His arrest was videotaped... bahahahahaahahahahahahah!

Good save Chris!
Next time have some slip on shoes near the door, I have them sitting there for occasions like yours.
Were you asked to press charges or ??
Any damage to the caR?

Wow way to hustle, take notes, and big props to the police in your area-2 minutes is excellent. Maybe its time for storage. I would at least give Desmon(wrx-eater-sti-killer) a call. GPS, and possibly a brand new install sound like they are worth your time and money. Best of luck in the future.
Glad she's safe and some thieves are going down for this!!
Were they cutting alarm wires, or just random ones? If alarm, then time to reroute and stealth heR up a little
