Default GSR radiator questions, Searched, still have questions

Hey guys,

Well, the top tank blew on my 94 GSR today, so I started looking at replacements.

First question: Can I get a replacement top tank to rebuild the radiator?

Second question: Any difference between the GSR and Type-R radiators? (other than Denso/SAK). Is the Type-R bigger? And is the Koyorad Denso replacement the same as the Type-R?

Third question: Racing radiators. Now, I never expect this car to ever make more than 200hp, but it does see it's share of track days, and palmdale in the summer can be a scorcher. Is anybody running a thicker half-size racing radiator with success in daily driving? I planning to add a heavy duty oil cooler as well, do you think half size will work?

Thanks,

I like the all metal unit, or you can look into the mishimotor radiators, I hear those are good units for the price.

That's why I'm wondering if I can save weight and space up front by switching to a half-sized racing radiator.

I would at least upgrade to an all metal unit so that you don't have the same problem w/ the plastic tank leaking or cracking.

Definately all metal.

Although, this one did last almost 15 years.
