i have a 2000 cx with a d16y7 and i am doing a mini-me swap with the y8 head do i need to use a y8 distributor ????

I believe the y7 and y8 dizzy are different.

 

i am not sure because of the vtec didnt know if it had to be changed??

 

i put a y8 in my car and used the y8 dizzy, 97 cx originally.

 

But do i have to change it!!

 

you will need to use the y8 dizzy re wired for the y7 harness
search there is a write up on how to do it
or you can do like i did and contact http://www.rywire.com/store/index.php
and have them wire a conversion harness for you
i think it was like $50
this is what i did when i did a mini-me for a buddy... I'm lazy

 

i am swapping out my wiring harness to a 99 ex harness!!

 

so... your good to go
