Do magnaflow exhausts have maximum HP range?
Are generic magnaflow mufflers only good to a certain HP level before they become restrictive? I current have 2.5" piping with 2 resonators to magnaflow exhaust. I want 3" straight back to magnaflow exhaust but my exhaust shop said the kind i have is only good to about 200HP, need to upgrade after that. Is he trying to screw me for more money?
Important part is that I'm going turbo and expect approx. 340WHP
I want magnaflow because I want to keep the same style I currently have

I dont think that mufflers are good for a certain HP, a muffler is a muffler. I have the same style as you do except mines is a flowmaster and same bent tip. Maybe he's just trying to get more out of you.
^^Thought so, I might get another muffler exact same as this but with a 3" inlet again just to make sure there's no restriction.
I just want to make sure when I tune my setup it's all the proper stuff, I don't want to go changing parts after I tune it, it's expensive here don't want to tune twice

Don't even bother paying for an exhaust if you're going to be turbocharging the car. Save your cheddar and when you do get the turbo put on, tell the muffler shop you want 4 inch all the way back from the turbo because after the turbo it doesn't matter how big you go with the exhaust. You want zero restriction after the turbo so you get good spool-up.

4in is over kill. 3in turbo back is fine. I ran a 3in turbo back to a flowmaster 3in on my 91 tsi awd and it was nice but loud as well. Hugh power increase over stock as well.

i'd say go with the 3" and just get the magnaflow muffler with the 3" inlet like you said.
